Split Mountain continued

As we could relax more now we slowed down on the way down and enjoyed the scenery.

Some of the trickiest passages were on the way down though, as usual.

Dinner by the lake before sunset.

We started our decent the next morning under crystal clear skies, determined to come back again...

Faster on the way down than up, but still a five hour hike down. Can you see our car?

Closeup of our summit attempt from the lake to our turnaround point. The jumps in the trace come from the fact that we were under negative rock faces from time to time, and got poor satellite reception.
